Thandiani (literally meaning Very Cold is a hill station in the Galyat area of Pakistan. Thandiani was originally granted as a lease to some members of the famous Battye familyin British Indiawho were dynamic Christian missionaries and also found in civil and military service and who produced such famous scions as Wigram Battye and Quintin Battyeand the Battyes subsequently gifted the location to the church authorities where a Sanatorium and various other facilities were set up during the British rulemostly for the convenience of missionaries.Anglican church personnel and officers stationed at the neighboring cantonment of Abbottabad.

Thandiani in only one and half hour’s drive take you from Nathiagali and an hour’s from Abbottabad situated eastward of Abbottabad at a distance of 24 km.This small but fascinating hill station (8400 m above sea levelis a cool and comfortable place settled on a mountain.The panoramic view of nearby and distant mountains is fully visible from here NathiaGali is clearly visible and one can see the mountains of Kohistan and Kaghan.
