Starting from Islamabad
If you’re from Pakistan or some other country, the first step is always to reach Islamabad by airplane/bus or car. Then from here, you have to take a bus or consider a cheap car rental option for Saidu Sharif or Mingora, Swat Valley.
It will take almost 4 to 5 hours’ drive from Islamabad. You must stay a night at Saidu Sharif, Serena Swat is the most ideal choice. Next early morning, first take your breakfast, then you can move towards Kalam valley, that’s another 5 hours’ drive from Saidu Sharif. Conditions of roads are quite good till Bahrain valley.
Kalam to Ushu
After Kalam Forest, the first stop is Ushu. There are many hotels and resorts in the Ushu, which provides a beautiful view of the valley. Its gushing streams are not only there to attract tourists, but it’s also an asset for producing electricity for locals.
Ushu to Matiltan
From Ushu, the next best stop is Matiltan. There are many wanderers with their group that travel deep into the valley, and roads are packed most of the time.
The breath-taking views of the valley are a standard sight for locals, but it’s something astonishing for us visiting from the metropolitan area. After Matiltan, next is Mahi Banal, one of the most beautiful places on the way to Mahodand Lake.
Matiltan to Mighty Falls
After traveling for about thirty minutes, here comes the Mighty falls, another well-known tourist spot. During summers, these falls change into an astonishing wonder that will stay carved in your mind forever. After mighty falls, there is Mahodand Lake, there are a lot of shops that sell snacks and drinks to the people who came to this amazing lake.
