NATCO is a government-owned transport organization that associates northern Pakistan with the rest of the cities. You can find one in Islamabad that would take you from Islamabad to Gilgit. The transport will cost you around 2,500 PKR and it will take around 18 hours to arrive at Gilgit. It runs 3 times each day, all at night, beginning from 7 PM, 8 PM and 9 PM.
It’s always recommended to buy the bus ticket at least a day before the trip. But in case you don’t have enough time then you can at least come to terminals a few hours before the time and get your ticket then. The location of the bus terminal is in the I-11/4 sector, right close to a gas station outside of the main city region. You can take an uber or ask your friend to drop you at the terminal.
Once you’ve got the ticket, be at the bus terminal at least 30 minutes before the time. Wait in the room close to the ticket booths and the driver will call for you when the bus shows up.
